BUED 230. Computer Applications: Document Design and Production. 3 credits.
Experience in planning, designing and producing documents for the business office with focus on transferability of productivity among the genre of word processing software. Prerequisite: Keyboard in excess of 40 words per minute with at least 95 percent word accuracy.
BUED 300. Spreadsheet, Database and Records Management. 3 credits.
Develops skills in managing the information of business by organizing data through the creation and use of computer spreadsheets and databases. Includes the management and organization of hard records.
BUED/SEED 380A. Clinical Techniques: Basic Business Subjects. 3 credits.
Development of classroom teaching skills appropriate for applying the principles of theoretical teaching models to instructing basic business and related subjects.
BUED/SEED 380B. Clinical Techniques: Typing and Related Subjects Methods. 2 credits.
Development of classroom teaching skills appropriate for applying the principles of theoretical teaching models to instructing psychomotor skills in typewriting and related subjects.
BUED 380D. Clinical Techniques: Classroom Management. 1 credit.
Development of classroom management techniques from clinical analyses of student teaching experiences; taken concurrently with student teaching.
BUED 400. Business Communication. 3 credits.
Develops skills in communicating effectively through formal and informal business reports, letters and memorandums. Emphasis on realistic problem solving involving collecting, organizing, analyzing, interpreting and presenting data. Prerequisite: ENG 101-102 and BUED 230 or equivalent.
BUED 400L. Business Communication Writing Lab. 0 credits.
Provides a supervised, computer laboratory for writing projects assigned in BUED 400. Prerequisite: Currently enrolled in BUED 400. (Formerly OSM 400L.)
BUED 430. Computer Applications: Desktop Publishing Design and Production. 3 credits.
Experience in planning, designing and producing the publications of business and education with focus on transferability of functions among the genre of desktop publishing software. Prerequisite: BUED 230 or equivalent. (Formerly OSM 430.)
BUED 480. Student Teaching in Business Education. 12 credits.
Teaching experience in secondary public school classrooms under the supervision of experienced teachers and a university supervisor. Prerequisite: PSYC 160, 270 and EDUC 360; appropriate methods courses; and permission of the coordinator of field experiences.
BUED 490. Independent Study in Business and Marketing Education. 1-3 credits.
Provides opportunity to complete independent study or research on problems in business and marketing education. Prerequisite: Permission of program coordinator. (Formerly OSM 490.)
BUED 496. Internship in Business and Marketing Education. 3 credits.
Supervised internship providing business office and/or marketing experience for students seeking licensure as business and marketing teachers in middle and secondary schools. Prerequisite: Permission of program coordinator. (Formerly OSM 496C.)
BUED 499. Honors in Business and Marketing Education. 6 credits.
