MSCI 100. Leadership Laboratory (0, 2). 1 credit, repeatable to 8 credits.

A laboratory in leadership development stressing the application of leadership principles, responsibilities of the leader and affording experience through practical exercises.

MSCI 101. Fundamentals of Military Science I. 1 credit.

Introduction to the Reserve Officers Training Corps, to include roles of the active Army, National Guard and Reserves, customs and courtesies of the military, and organization of the Army. Corequisite: MSCI 100, Leadership Laboratory.

MSCI 102. Fundamentals of Military Science II. 1 credit.

Introduction to the Reserve Officers Training Corps, to include the basic leadership principles, military writing skills and oral communication skills necessary for military briefings. Corequisite: MSCI 100, Leadership Laboratory.

MSCI 201. Advanced Military Skills. 2 credits.

A continuation in the study of military skills for students in the second year of the ROTC basic course. Provides instruction in field tactical skills, administrative skills and military professional knowledge subjects. Corequisite: MSCI 100, Leadership Laboratory.

MSCI 202. Advanced Military Skills. 2 credits.

A continuation in the study of military skill in the second year of the ROTC basic course. Provides instruction in field tactical skills, administrative skills and military professional knowledge subjects. Corequisite: MSCI 100, Leadership Laboratory.

MSCI 310. Theory and Techniques I. 3 credits.

An advanced course in the theory and techniques of land navigation; the preparation, conduct and evaluation of training; nuclear, chemical and biological defense; first aid; prevention of weather injuries; communications; drill and ceremonies; and the laws of war. Course work will include classroom work as well as practical exercises. Corequisite: MSCI 100, Leadership Laboratory.

MSCI 320. Theory and Techniques II. 3 credits.

Advanced course in theory and techniques of small unit tactics, use of military communications systems and methods, indirect fire support, and military leadership. Corequisite: MSCI 100, Leadership Laboratory.

MSCI 410. Seminar on Command Management. 3 credits.

Advanced course in military personnel management system, officer/NCO relationships, the military justice system, ethics and professionalism in the military, and other necessary military knowledge subjects. Corequisite: MSCI 100, Leadership Laboratory.

MSCI 420. Seminar on Military Team. 3 credits.

Advanced course designed to prepare Army, military science IV students for entry into active or reserve forces duty. Course focuses on organization, major Army programs, ethics and professionalism, familiarization with correspondence, and practical information to ease the transition from student to commissioned officer. Corequisite: MSCI 100, Leadership Laboratory.
