Jennifer came to JMU in July 2013 as one of the university’s Transfer Advising Coordinators. She primarily works with students at Northern Virginia Community College, but also students who wish to transfer from other VCCS schools, out-of-state community colleges, and 4-year universities. Before coming to JMU, Jennifer worked at Northern Virginia Community College as a First-Year Advisor and at Virginia Commonwealth University as a Transfer Advisor. Being a transfer student herself during her undergraduate career, she understands and shares her experiences with many of the students she advises. Transfer students hold a special place in her heart! Jennifer has presented at NACADA and the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students (NISTS) on transfer student advising and success strategies.
