Chris started his higher education career in 1998 at The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) in San Antonio, TX. At UIW he worked in Financial Aid and then moved into the Adult Degree Completion Program (ADCaP) as an academic advisor and assistant site manager.  Moving to Danville, VA in 2001, Chris served as Director of Career Services at Averett University. 

In 2004 he relocated to the Shenandoah Valley and started at James Madison University (JMU) as a part of Career & Academic Planning as an Academic and Career Advisor.  When the department reorganized and became the University Career Center and University Advising in the summer of 2020, Chris became part of the University Advising staff.  He also served as the Honor Council coordinator at JMU from 2007-2018.  He has also been a member of multiple JMU Alternative Break Program trips as a Learning Partner to Atlanta, Charlotte, New Orleans and Orlando.

Chris graduated from West Virginia University in 1996 earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and then again in 1998 earning a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership (Higher Education concentration).
