Charge: The Research and Scholarship (R&S) Task Force convened in September 2018 with the purpose of studying the current purview of the Office of Research and Scholarship (ORS) and developing recommendations for the following:

• What the “Research and Scholarship” function at JMU should be, based on a variety of input (discussions, meetings, surveys, etc.) from various stakeholders
• The support structure for research and scholarship at JMU
• An implementation plan, including a position description for the Vice Provost role
• Identification of strategic alliances (e.g., state and federal agencies, colleges and universities, other institutions)
