Charge
The COVID-19 Briefing Team is a sub-group of the Infectious Disease Response Team, formed at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the following charge:

  • To keep the President and the Senior Leadership Team informed of the most current information regarding COVID-19  worldwide, nationally, locally and at JMU.
  • To coordinate communication to students, faculty, staff, parents and other stakeholders.
  • To develop a system for handling external questions coming into the university.
  • To notify the Senior Leadership Team when, based on emerging information about the virus, a decision needs to be made by the SLT.
  • To communicate information about divisional and departmental operations/decisions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • To serve as a resource for recommendations regarding decisions that need to be made relative to COVID-19 and university operations.
