Break Description

Join us on this unique experience as we travel to Music City to serve with Project C.U.R.E. Project C.U.R.E. is a nonprofit organization that “identifies, solicits, collects, sorts, and distributes medical supplies and services according to the imperative needs of the world.” They were founded to empower doctors and nurses in developing countries by providing them with the tools needed to complete their jobs. The organization is focused on delivering medical relief to communities in need in more than 130 countries. Project C.U.R.E.’s priorities are “prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and Ebola”.

Project C.U.R.E. collects supplies that local hospitals cannot use and stores them in their downtown Nashville warehouse. The supplies are then shipped out to medical facilities around the world to meet the needs of physicians, nurses, and their patients. On our break, we will contribute any way we can, including by sorting medical supplies, testing and repairing medical equipment, loading containers, and completing administrative tasks. We will also learn more about the story of the organization, along with the stories of the individuals we will have the opportunity to serve.

While the warehouse is accessible to those who use wheelchairs, there is not an ADA-compliant restroom. If you have questions about accessibility, please let us know so that we can discuss possible accommodations with our hosts.

Please note that Project C.U.R.E. requires all volunteers to have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Join us as we learn more about Project C.U.R.E. and advance their mission to ensure health care professionals around the world have the tools they need to save lives!
