Break Description

Habitat_2020.jpg

Please join us in serving with Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity of West Virginia for fall break 2021. Their mission is “seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope”.

We expect to work on a new home in the final stages of construction. Possible tasks include painting, installing trim, and perhaps even cabinet installation. No previous construction experience is necessary. They'll teach us everything we need to know to stay safe and make a positive contribution to realizing a new homeowner's dream!

We’ll stay in Almost Heaven Habitat's volunteer center, which is housed in a nearby church. It includes dorm-style rooms with bunk beds (including posturpedic mattresses!). Plan to bring your own pillow and sheets or a sleeping bag. We'll prepare our meals in the center's kitchen, and showers will be available on site.

Almost Heaven Habitat strives to be accessible and to accommodate the needs of volunteers. They assure us that there will be meaningful work for volunteers with mobility issues. That being said, not all locations will be accessible to those who use wheelchairs. If you would like more information about accessibility or possible accommodations, please let us know!

We're so excited for you to join us as we serve our neighbors in beautiful Appalachia!)
