Break Description

This break’s focus is to provide help for Family Promise of Greater Orlando and Mustard Seed of Central Florida in Winter Park, Florida. Family Promise helps people experiencing homelessness and difficulties through providing programs such as shelter, housing, and case management to assist with life beyond. Their mission is to help families experiencing homelessness achieve sustainable housing and self-sufficiency as quickly as possible. Mustard Seed’s mission is to help rebuild the lives of families and individuals who have suffered disasters or personal tragedies by providing household furnishings and clothing while being environmentally responsible within the community. We will be staying at a church that works with Family Promise to house families that were unhoused. The group will be very hands-on with meals and day to day activities for the families such as playing with the children and helping with homework. We want to be able to create a safe, secure and comfortable environment for the families while we are there providing assistance.
