Break Description

Start your JMU experience this summer with a week of virtual service, connection, and engaging opportunities! Join other incoming first years and transfer students as we support our local neighbors from home and ensure safety is central to all service.

We will virtually gather to learn more about JMU, other new students, and community identified concerns both before and during COVID-19. We’ll work with established community partners to build capacity and meet needs without leaving our own spaces. We will also reflect on our experiences and spend time getting to know one another and building JMU community. No previous experience required. Come ready to learn, serve in unique times, and get connected! We will be collecting YOUR preferences and thoughts as we finalize plans for this new venture.

Register NOW for a socially connected but physically distant and safe taste of the Alternative Break Program!
