Break Description

In 2015, the District of Columbia ranked 6th among states with the most people living below poverty and had the highest food stamp use percentage rate in the United States. Poverty is a national crisis growing by the day, and each day, more people are born into poverty than come out of it. A Wider Circle serves the greater D.C. area to eliminate poverty and its effects on individuals while focusing on love and human connection. A Wider Circle’s mission is to help both individuals and families out of poverty, as well as to give everyone the chance to succeed and live well. Central Union Mission works to address the homeless crisis and the rising cost of urban living. Join us in service while we sort donations, restock showrooms, assist clients as they are selecting items to take home, and provide shelter upkeep.
