Break Description

Come get down in the dirt with us as we get hands on experience learning about ways to better care for the environment! We will be traveling to serve with Asheville Greenworks, an environmental non-profit organization located in Western, NC. Their goal is to mobilize the community in order to improve the local environment. They are a part of many wonderful projects throughout Asheville such as river clean-ups, road clean-ups, urban foresting, planting pollinator gardens, invasive plant removal, and more! In addition, Asheville Greenworks educates the community about reducing waste via community wide recycling events and composting workshops.

This break will be an adventure in which participants will get the opportunity to learn about the work that Asheville Greenworks is doing, how they do it, and ways they can help. We will be doing a variety of things including but not limited to working in the orchard nursery, river/road clean ups, and live staking stream banks.
