Focus on: Community Wellness and Refugee Resettlement

Description:

Catholic Charities is the largest private human services network in the United States and they serve people of all religious, ethnic, social, and economic backgrounds. One of the largest populations they serve are migrants and refugees. Migrant and Refugee Services’ mission is to provide refugees with the support and assistance they need in order to become self-sufficient. The role of Migration and Refugee Services is to involve, organize, and bring together the agency, church, and community resources necessary for successful resettlement. Services include English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, immigration legal services, as well as help finding employment.

Previous Alternative Breaks have supported this mission and served refugees by teaching ESL classes and sorting through the numerous donations that Catholic Charities receives from the community. Come along on this AJB to help refugees create a new life in a new land—Louisville, KY!
