This collaborative research project will permit a JMU faculty member to collaborate with an established research laboratory in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics, and with the Center for Public Genomics, both of which are at the University of Virginia. The faculty member from JMU will have an opportunity to participate in world-class research in the areas of neuroscience, neuroendocrinology and cell signaling. This experience will also allow for said faculty member to bring valuable insight and experience back to their undergraduate classroom. The project will also allow for a strong relationship to develop that could lead to future collaborations with the University of Virginia.
