JMU Kevin GiovanettiTitle:

Development of a High Stability, Precise, High Voltage Power System:  a Critical Component for the Muon g-2 Experiment at Fermi National Laboratory

Principal Investigator:

Dr. Kevin GIovanetti, Department of Physics at JMU in collaboration with Dr. Dinko Pocanic, Department of Physics at UVA

This collaborative research project will combine the resources and expertise of two nuclear and particle physics groups. This project will design, prototype and test a high voltage system that will be used to power detectors for the Muon g-2 experiment. This experiment will be performed at Fermi National Laboratory in Batavia, IL. The Muon g-2 experiment will measure the magnetic moment of the Muon to a very high precision. This experiment can then be characterized as a critical test of the fundamental theory of matter and energy.
