Located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley and just minutes from Harrisonburg, the 160-acre elegant and picturesque vineyard estate features Jeffersonian architecture, stately reception hall, outdoor brick pergola and expansive open lawn. This popular wedding venue currently grows six varietals: Cabernet Franc, Chambourcin, Chardonnay, Petit Verdot, Vidal Blanc, and Viognier. The Shenandoah Valley AVA, established in 1982, is becoming one of the well-known American Vitacultural Areas of Virginia due to its favorable growing conditions and ability to produce a large number of varietals.

Thank you to Steve and Stephanie Pence for offering their facility and the beautiful backdrops of the panoramic Blue Ridge Mountains and Massanutten Peak for our Friday evening En Blanc dinner.

In Honor of Fran Purdum

Ann Marie Elles (’91) has made a gift to Women for Madison in honor of her cousin Fran Purdum (’52), pictured right. She remembers, “Fran was an amazing inspiration as an educator, leader, cousin and friend. I so enjoyed her stories from Madison College and comparing notes of our various experiences: both equally awesome at two very different times.”
