Born and raised in Northern New Jersey, Cynthia came to James Madison University to begin her undergraduate studies in 1979.  After completing her degree in Communications, she embarked on a career in the marketing and development field for public television and hospital-based wellness before entering the private sector and working for two mid-sized pharmaceutical companies.

Cynthia returned to Madison in 2010 as a development director in the University Advancement Division.  “Raising awareness and funding for my alma mater is one of the most rewarding jobs I can imagine,” she says.  “Investing in our students, faculty and programs is a win-win on so many levels.”
