Cindy graduated from James Madison University with a BS in Sociology and certification to teach PreK through 3rd grade elementary school students. She taught in the Rockingham County Public School system for a few years and then stayed at home. While at home raising her three sons, she was involved in PTA leadership and began a new career in doing development work for a variety of local nonprofits. The development work she has lead has included a capital campaign for Skyline Literacy, inaugural fundraising events for Bridge of Hope and Harrisonburg Community Health Center. She currently co-chairs the Development Committee for the Shenandoah National Park Trust board of directors and chairs the Development Committee for Valley FCA. Cindy received her Master’s in Public Administration in May of 2016 from James Madison University.

Cindy has been involved with James Madison University for over thirty years in one capacity or another. Besides being a “Double Duke”, she has served two terms at the university as president of the JMU Women’s Club. She has worked as Stewardship Coordinator for Donor Relations and, in that particular role, planned their Purple and Gold reception for President Alger’s Inauguration. She has served on the Executive Advisory Council for Research and Scholarship and is currently serving on the Technology Alumni Group Planning Committee. Additionally, she is proud to say she has supported the Duke Club for over twenty-five years. Cindy counts it an honor to serve Women for Madison as Program Coordinator. Having been affiliated with James Madison University as student, parent, spouse of an employee, alum and now employee, Cindy desires to motivate others to be philanthropic with their personal time and resources to JMU.

Cindy is proud mom of Josh ’11, Zack and Jake.
