Aishah Hunter graduated from James Madison University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in communication studies with a concentration in organizational communication and a minor in anthropology with a concentration in linguistics.

During her time at JMU she was heavily involved in several organizations including the Office of Orientation (Student Orientation Coordinator 2008, OPA 2007), Student Government Association, president of the Lambda Chi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Lambda Pi Eta National Honor Society for communication studies, student speech consultant for the Communication and Writing Center and career educator for Career and Academic Planning.

Some of her most treasured memories at JMU were the opportunities to give back to the community through the Alternative Spring Break Program (academic trip to Dominica and Center for Multicultural Student Services to Winter Park, Florida) and through her sorority.

Professionally Hunter is a coach, entrepreneur and human resource leader. She currently serves as the regional people support manager for Sweetgreen in New York City. One of her passions is to build strong families through healthy marriages which led her to become the co-founder of Happily Hitched, LLC, a marriage focused wedding planning company with her business partner who is also a JMU alumna.

Hunter is passionate about remaining active in the Madison community and does so through her service on the Women for Madison Executive Board and the GOLD Network Board. Her goal is to continue to educate others on the power of philanthropy and the impact volunteerism has on the Madison Experience
