The University Writing Center has MOVED! Visit our new home on the first floor of the Student Success Center.
Feel free to make an appointment or simply walk-in during our library hours. Once you register, you can make an appointment with any of the writing consultants by selecting an available space.
Check out our resources page for all of your student and faculty needs. Our extensive link library is a great source for all writers. Also, feel free to utilize our writing space on the first floor of the Student Success Center.
UWC has teamed up with the Rose Library to offer the Write Nights program, a late night writing lounge that allows students on the east side of campus to work on their writing, get help from trained writing tutors, and stay energized with close access to Starbucks.
Each month we review our statistics and publish our goals, events, and success. Take a look at our current and past newsletters to learn more about the center.
Thesis statements? Brainstorming? Don't worry, you don't need to come to the center with a complete draft of your paper. Simply come prepared with an open mind, and our friendly, trained tutors will be willing to help you at any stage in the writing process.
We don't just wait for you to come to us. Our consultants and peer tutors can visit your class to promote Writing Center services or to provide mini-workshops on specific writing topics like using sources, organizing your ideas, or making your writing more concise. Contact Paige Normand to coordinate a visit.
Stay tuned in to the University Writing Center. Find us on Facebook and Twitter for updates on hours and programs, and writing tips you can really use.
The Writing Center offers writers help with all types of writing, including arguments, scholarly articles, fiction and personal narratives, business writing, formatting and citation, grammar and punctuation, and research strategies. We welcome the brainstormer, the procrastinator, the perfectionist, the disorganized, the perplexed, and you.
We empower students, faculty, and staff to develop writing skills and confidence by providing one-to-one consultations, resources, and programming that support and enhance writing across campus.
