Learning activities that cultivate Enlightenment regarding issues related to civic life include but are not limited to:

• Studying Abroad
• Taking a 200- or 300-level class on a more focused topic
• Helping to plan and implement a service-learning project
• Conducting research for a paper or presentation on a particular issue or cause or problem

These activities typically have stated learning outcomes such as: the ability to explain sophisticated concepts, to apply knowledge or past experiences to the situation at hand, to compare and contrast examples.
