Mission Statement: Believing in the value of a liberal education, University Studies at James Madison University coordinates and supports campus wide endeavors that enhance intellectual development and foster the enlightened citizenship of all undergraduates. In so doing, it promotes academic excellence, faculty development, student research, internationalization, and diversity.
University Studies is the central location for students, faculty and the university community to receive services and support regarding the following:
• Center for Assessment and Research Studies
• General Education Program
• Honors Program
• IdLS Program
• University Advising
University Studies is the Dean's office for Undeclared students, and coordinates some university-wide academic projects, including the Honor Code Test, the Junior Update, and the registration of new freshmen and transfer students into appropriate first-semester schedules.
University Studies is located in Maury Hall.
