As of August 1, 2002, James Madison University only accepts credit card
payments for tuition, fees, room and board through the web. The University
accepts only MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards. Credit card payments
can be made through our on-line
electronic payment site. All charges
appearing on the student account bill can be paid through this web site.
To use this web service you will be charged a 2.75% service fee in addition
to the payment amount.
Electronic Check
Electronic checks are accepted through our on-line
electronic payment site. All charges

To pay by electronic check you will need a routing number and account number.
Electronic checks are accepted as long as they are drawn on US banks and are in
US dollars. If a check is returned to the University unpaid by the bank, the
student's account will be placed on hold until restitution is made. Reimbursement
must be a cashier's check, cash, money order by mail or at the University Business Office
window or charge card - MasterCard, American Express or Discover through our online credit
card payment site. A $50.00 handling fee will be assessed on all returned checks.
Personal Check
Personal checks are accepted as long as they are drawn on US banks and are in
US dollars. Make checks payable to JMU. If a check is returned to the University unpaid by the bank, the
student's account will be placed on hold until restitution is made. Reimbursement

On-Campus Payments
Payments may be made in person by check or in cash at our campus location,
Warren 302.
To make a payment on a student account go directly to our secured on-line electronic payment site. (To make an admission deposit please visit the deposit payment page.) You will need the student's name and student ID to make a payment through this site. The University only accepts MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and electronic check payments through this site.

If you would like to pay your education expenses monthly, use the Interest-Free Monthly Payment Option offered through QuikBILL. The payment plan is available for a small enrollment fee and includes personal account service and Automatic Life Insurance coverage. Enrollment for the upcoming year begins in June.
This payment option allows the student to pay tuition, on-campus room, and meal charges in monthly installments. The plan must be established before the beginning of the school year. The student account is considered paid when the budget is sufficient to cover the tuition for both Fall and Spring semesters. Notification of Stafford and Perkins loan disbursements are sent by email to the student's JMU email address after the aid has been applied to their account. Notification of PLUS loan disbursement is sent by mail to the parent's address after the aid has been applied to the student's account.

To insure proper credit to your account, please ask the donor to include the student's name, social security number, or JMU ID number on the scholarship check.
