Assistive Technology

"Assistive technologies (AT) are the tools and strategies that act to liberate the use of technology for all students as well as to provide new ways to "assist" interactions and learning."  (http://doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/sped/AssistiveTechnology.pdf)

The Assistive Technology Priority Project's goal is to provide training and technical assistance on assistive technology with a focus on access to the general curriculum and support for including students with disabilities in general classrooms and community settings.

The Region 5 lending library has a variety of assistive technology hardware and software to borrow and use on a trial basis.
