
The Virginia Department of Education Training and Technical Assistance Center at James Madison University is part of a statewide network of centers designed to improve educational opportunities and contribute to the success of children and youth with disabilities (ages birth - 22). T/TACs work to increase the capacity of school personnel, service providers, and families to meet the needs of children and youth with disabilities by providing for high quality personnel development that fosters students with disabilities' access to the general curriculum, achievement in the least restrictive environment, and knowledge and skills to transition to adult settings.
T/TACs provide a variety of request-based support services and assistance to public school and early intervention personnel. Services include a lending library, quarterly newsletter, Web site & T/TAC Online, workshops & training, information resources, referrals to other agencies, and small group and individual consultations.
