Workshop Description:  Have you wondered how the Affordable Care Act has impacted JMU? Join us for an information session on the changes JMU has made to address the requirements of the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the Virginia Manpower Control Program.  Hours of work requirements, tracking of hours worked, account code changes and ePAR implementation will be addressed.  We welcome participant questions!

In this workshop participants will gain understanding of:

  • Affordable Care Act and the employer/employee mandate
  • Virginia Governor’s amendment to the Manpower Control Program
  • Affordable Care Act measurement periods
  • JMU tracking methodology for part-time work
  • Employer, supervisor and employee responsibilities associated with ACA
  • New account codes created to aid in assessment and reporting
  • Status of ePAR
  • Budget impact with new account codes
