Julio Agustin has performed on Broadway in the original companies of Fosse, Steel Pier, Never Gonna Dance, Bells Are Ringing (revival), Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, and was featured opposite Bebe Neuwirth in Chicago, the musical. His recent award recognitions include an Audelco nomination for Best Director (La Dulce Caridad, a Latina adaptation of Sweet Charity @ New Haarlem Arts Theatre, NYC), Best Choreographer nomination by the Syracuse Area Live Theatre (In the Heights @ Hangar Theatre), and the Shelfer Eminent Scholar Chair by the Florida State University where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree.  He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Directing from Pennsylvania State University and is a Certified Practitioner with the One Voice Centre for Integrative Studies.  Julio runs The Transition Workshop, LLC, a monthly audition studio in New York City (www.JulioAgustin.com), and recently released his book, The Professional Actor’s Handbook: From Casting Call to Curtain Call (Rowman & Littlefield, 2017).  Member:  SDC, AEA, SAG-AFTRA, and VASTA.
