Note: This workshop is capped at 16 participants

Total Workshop Time: 3 Hours

Pre-requisites: None

Description:

Are you the one everyone comes to in your department when they have a question or need supplies? Do your student assistants look to you for advice and mentoring? Are there days when you feel like you have helped everyone else and have been unable to complete your own tasks?

Administrative professionals and office assistants are often the hub and the go-to person in their departments. Being involved with so many people and tasks can lead to increased stress and put you at risk for job burnout. It is important to take the time to care for yourself.

In this workshop participants will:

  • Learn how to balance yes and no
  • Develop a strategy for prioritizing responsibilities and relationships
  • Discuss communication techniques that can help convey empathy and assistance without adding to your to-do list
  • Learn how to make pampering yourself a priority
