TD1515

Note: This workshop is capped at 15 participants.

Total Workshop Time: 3.5 Hours

Pre-requisites: TD1242: Introduction to Myers-Brigs Type Indicator (MBTI)

Description:

Did you know that Judgers use a "closed language" and Perceivers use an "open language"? Our type preferences are like personal filters which impact many things including communication. Our communication filters determine our perceptions. Perceptions can assist communication or distort it. The more we understand our own filters, the more effectively we can communicate. This workshop will highlight communication preferences and use MBTI type knowledge to improve communication.

In this workshop participants will:

  • Learn about communication preferences for the four MBTI dichotomies
  • Learn about MBTI communication languages and dialects
  • Learn to recognize personal communication preferences for themselves and others

Facilitated by: Jennifer Keach, Director of Organizational Learning and Development, JMU Libraries
