Description:

All newly designated supervisors, within 90 days of assuming a supervisory role and as a condition of continued employment, are required to complete the 30 minute long, online Preventing Workplace Violence Supervisors orientation course and quiz created by JMU’s Office of Human Resources and the Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM).

JMU has a responsibility to maintain a work environment free from violence, threats of violence, harassment, intimidation, and other disruptive behavior and to provide training and resources to university supervisors.

During this course, you will learn the definition of workplace violence and be able to identify:

  •  Prohibited conduct
  • Warning signs of violence
  • How and to whom to report potential violence
  • What to do in a violent situation
  • Your role as a supervisor in preventing and responding to workplace violence
