12th Annual High Tech Friday A Success

The 12th Annual JMU TAG Event, High Tech Friday, was held on Friday, October 12th.  TAG speakers, who are JMU alums, visited 17 classrooms to share their success stories. The speakers visited business classes, ISAT class, and engineering classes. Since its inception, the TAG group has visited 170 different classes.

James Callahan, CIS & Finance, May 2013, says “Having alums present to our class is definitely motivational. It motivates me after graduation to become successful. I want to return this motivation to younger classes. After I get experience, I plan to come back to campus and share my story. A lot of alums provide motivation to continue to do well in school. Also, their support makes me feel more comfortable.”

In addition to the class visits, the TAG group paid tribute to founding member Dr. John Noftsinger. The group also heard updates from ISAT, CIS, CS, and ENGR.

Plans are already underway for 2013 High Tech Friday!

October 12, 2012

The 12th Annual JMU TAG Event, High Tech Friday, will be held on campus on Friday, October 12th.  In 2011, the event was very successful, with an outstanding turnout of approximately 20 class visitations. It was very fitting that our good friend and TAG founding member, Dr. John Noftsinger closed out last Fall’s meeting with the final presentation.  TAG will always remember John’s accomplishments and during this year’s meeting time will be spent discussing how we can honor his legacy.

See attached agenda for more detailed information.  See the attached powerpoint from last year for additional information.
