Electronic Document Conversion
Organizations possessing large volumes of documents or records in paper form may wish to use the SSC to convert their their dataset into electronic form. Our facility is capable of efficiently and automatically processing documents through a scanner which are published as Adobe Acrobat's portable document format (.pdf). Once scanned, these fully searchable documents are easily transferred and viewed via electronic means.

Data Conditioning
In tandem with Electronic Document Conversion the SSC offers a service we call Data Conditioning. This process allows us to improve the appearance of scanned documents to make them more legible and therefore more useful to your end users. Through conditioning, poor quality scans are salvaged into high resolution documents.

Tutorials and Training
At the SSC, we realize that not every organization's staff will possess the requisite skills to maintain a full scale information mangement system. To support these organizations, we offer on-site training to educate your staff with the skills and operational know-how necessary to operate Synthesis. In particular, technologically disadvantaged units will benefit by our well-trained and patient staff.

Data Administration
For parks that cannot devote the resources to the administrative functions required by their information management system, the SSC can assign one of our in-house specialists to implement all documents into your dataset. In addition, we can support your project from conception to finished product. Support to your site comes in terms of organization, documentation, and administration; producing a dataset polished with metadata and keywords to facilitate document retrieval and identification. Our office can perform this task at
your site or remotely, with updates produced on a regular schedule.
