10 Tips for If You're Falling Behind on a Course

1.

Evaluate your own performance and identify your weak areas.

2.

Get lots of help from your instructor; show him or her that you're trying.

3.

Schedule more study time for your weak course(s) and stick to it!

4.

Get a "study partner" who you get along with (but won't spend all your time socializing!)

5.

Call the Counseling and Student Development Center at ext. 6552 for their academic skills workshops,

Cover up the TV until you're back on track... If you can't see it, it won't be as tempting to watch.

7.

Check the bookstore or even the Internet for study guides.

8.

Find someone who aced the course and talk to them about how they managed it.

9.

Find a friend or acquaintance who will tutor you for a while (or at least proofread your work). It's really helpful if they took the course already.

10.

Hire a tutor!
