The mission of Student Success Programs is to help students complete transitions into, through and out of the university, develop responsibility for their learning, and become more efficient, effective, and engaged learners.
Commitment to the success of our students is a hallmark of James Madison University. At JMU, student success means our students establish and achieve their educational goals. Student Success Programs assists students in reaching desired levels of academic achievement by removing the roadblocks that historically may have prevented students from maximizing their educational experiences. Towards this end, Student Success Programs works to organize JMU programs and services so they are cohesive, supportive, and based on common educational and developmental goals.
Student Success Programs is an organizational unit within the Division of Student Affairs and University Planning, with strong ties to the Division of Academic Affairs. The office provides leadership and support to the following JMU programs and offices: Community Service-Learning, the Office of Disability Services, JMU Learning Centers, and the Orientation Office.
