Enjoying Food and History in Italy

Molli Ferrarello looks back at her days in Florence, Italy with favor. She studied abroad through JMU in spring 2012 and found her experience to be better than she could have imagined. “I loved getting to know a foreign city in a deeper way than a tourist experience…My friends and I would spend weekends visiting museums, trying the local cuisine, and walking around the old streets in Florence.“
A junior International Affairs and Media Arts and Design double major, Molli took courses on the European Union, the Italian language, Dante, and a three-credit elective in wine tasting in Florence. She found that Florence was an easy pick for studying abroad because of its rich history and fantastic food.
While abroad, Molli had the chance to travel around choice European destinations. “I spent a weekend in Paris and Spring Break in Barcelona!” She always enjoyed traveling and learning about other places that are rich in art and history and recommends the study abroad experience to anyone: “It is a great way to learn about another culture and make lifetime friends.”
