Food and Accessibility, Who Knew Those Were a Great Combination!

by Brennan Maupin and Sarah Humphreys

Opportunity. Spinach-Cheese Dip. Equal access. Shish Kabobs. Accessible media. Meatballs. Door prizes. If you missed the Office of Disability Services Monday morning Open House, you missed the greatest medley of information and catered food ever.

This event offered opportunities to ask questions and to see exactly what the Office Disability Services does. Participants were excited to meet the staff and to try out assistive technology offerings like smart pens, captioned videos, and audio books. At noon, fans of the hip-hop duo 4 Wheel City enjoyed the opportunity to meet the entertainers. It was a great event to begin Disability Awareness Week and start celebrating a world of differences.
