"King Corn"

 

Wednesday, September 15, 7 pm: Film screening: King Corn and Big River (90 min total), Miller 1101.  After graduating from Yale, documentary filmmakers Ian Cheney and Curt Ellis rent an acre of corn in Iowa to find how corn came to dominate the American diet.  The result of their adventures is King Corn (2007), winner of the prestigious Peabody Award.  Now in Big River (2010), the King Corn boys are back and have returned to Iowa with a new mission: to investigate the environmental impact their acre of corn has sent to the people and places downstream.
