Save the Date!

Come join the Division of Research and Scholarship for the JMU Research and Scholarship Academy on February 6, 2018 (Student Assessment Day) in the Festival Conference & Student Center. This training event offers faculty and staff members of JMU a comprehensive program to hear from internal and external experts about how to grow and enhance their research and scholarly pursuits. The Research and Scholarship Academy will include a breakfast speaker, breakout workshops/presentations in both the morning and afternoon, and a lunch speaker. Content will include:

  • External Speakers
  • Seasoned Principal Investigators and Project Managers
  • Subject Matter Experts from JMU operational units:
    • Research Development
    • Office of Sponsored Programs Pre-Award
    • Sponsored Programs Accounting
    • Research Integrity
    • Technology Innovation & Economic Development
    • Libraries and Educational Technologies
    • Corporate and Foundation Relations
    • Procurement
    • Public Affairs

Feel free to stay all day or simply attend a few sessions.

We are currently seeking facilitators who would be interested in hosting a breakout workshop/presentation(s) related to your area of expertise as it relates to fostering the research enterprise at JMU. If you are interested in hosting a breakout workshop/presentation(s) at the JMU Research and Scholarship Academy, please submit an abstract and your objectives for your workshop/presentation(s) to the Office of Sponsored Programs via email at jmu_grants@jmu.edu by November 27, 2017Breakout workshops/presentations are expected to be an hour to an hour and 15 minutes long with Q & A encouraged.
