Tina’s professional specialization has been gerontology with work in long term care, Hospice, housing, home care, rehab, and protective services before spending 12-year stint at Springfield College where she taught in the Rehabilitation & Disability Studies Department, supervised interns and practicum students, and was Director of the Learning in Later Life program at the college.  In 2006, she took a position as Program Director for the Westfield Council on Aging, two years later was named Interim Director and then appointed as Executive Director last summer.

The photo is Tina with “one of my regulars" at the Council on Aging/Senior Center.  His name is Gus and he’s a retired optometrist.  Gus is 98 years old and we have had a crush on each other since the day I started working here.  I am in awe of this man who decided at the age of 90 that he should learn how to use a computer in order to communicate with his grandchildren.  He sings in our “Do Re Mi” choral group, still plays the keyboard, and exercises (slowly and with effort) daily.  He has a delightful sense of humor and truly brings joy to all who know him.
