Katie Cross won the "Best Student Paper" Award

On October 30th, 2010, JMU Anthropology student Katie Cross won the "Best Student Paper" award at the 2010 Annual Meeting of the Archeological Society of Virginia, held in Williamsburg.  Her paper, "Hunter-Gatherer Site Function in the Blue Ridge Mountains: An Analysis of Artifacts from the Pryors Camp Site (44NE153)," is drawn from the work she's doing for her undergraduate honors thesis in the Anth program.  Katie's paper will be published in the Quarterly Bulletin of the Archeological Society of Virginia, and she will receive an award of $100 and a year's membership in the organization.
