IIHHS Pre-professional Health (PPH) Scholarship

Full-time JMU students with a declared interest in a Pre-Professional Health Program are encouraged to apply.

Application requires submission of (1) scholarship application form, (2) a personal statement (400 words maximum) describing your interest in a professional health career, and (3) official transcript for transfer coursework in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Math. Additional criteria include the completion a minimum of 20 credit hours in Pre-professional Health preparation coursework including courses in 3 of the 5 general PPH subject areas: Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Pre-OT students are eligible to substitute HTH 441 as physics-related coursework. Involvement in extra- and/or co-curricular activities directly related to preparation for future health profession (e.g. volunteer and/or community service-learning) will be included in the evaluation of the application.

Scholarship History:

For all Pre-professional Health students. Announcements go out to PPH students in April. The application deadline is typically mid-May. Recipients are welcome to re-apply for this scholarship.
