Bruce Allen Benke Scholarship Endowment

 Criteria:
     Need Based? No
     Freshman Only? No
 Information:

An endowed accounting scholarship established in honor of Bruce Allen Benke by his parents, Dr. Ralph & Patricia Benke. A selection committee, consisting of faculty members in the School of Accounting, shall consider the two criteria described below.

1. Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and behavior. The recipient shall have contributed materially to an entrepreneurial venture or enterprise. Demonstrated involvement in the venture is required. While leadership of such a venture is desirable, it is not a necessary requirement for satisfying this criterion. Examples of entrepreneurial ventures include a lawn cutting business and similar ventures.

Dr. Albert and Celia Mitchell - Ernst & Young Scholarship in Accounting

 Criteria:
     Need Based? No
     Freshman Only? No
 Information:
An endowed scholarship, the Dr. Albert & Celia Mitchell - Ernst & Young Scholarship in Accounting will provide annually to one (or more) outstanding undergraduate student scholar(s) in the fourth or fifth year of an accounting major. The appointment of a student as Dr. Albert & Celia Mitchell - Ernst & Young Scholar shall follow the University's guidelines for the awarding of scholarships and the following additional criteria: First, eligible scholarship recipients should demonstrate an intention to enter accounting employment upon graduation from James Madison University. Second, recipients of the Dr. Albert & Celia Mitchell - Ernst & Young Scholar will be selected in a manner determined at the discretion of a committee consisting of the head of the Accounting Department and two senior members of the Accounting Department faculty, selected at the discretion of the head of the Accounting Department.
 

Phibbs, Burkholder, Geisert & Huffman Accounting Scholarship

 Criteria:
     Need Based? No
     Freshman Only? No
 Information:
An endowed scholarship established July 1991, by Phibbs, Burkholder, Geisert & Huffman, a CPA firm in Harrisonburg, Virginia, to provide accounting scholarships. The Accounting department should make recommendations to the Financial Aid office on or before May 31 for Fall/Spring scholarships.
 

Veris Consulting, LLC Accounting Scholarship Endow. in Memory of Eunice C. Koehne '99

 Criteria:
     Need Based? No
     Freshman Only? No
 Information:
An endowed scholarship established by Veris Consulting, LLC. Tthe Veris Consulting, LLC Accounting Scholarship Endowment in Memory of Eunice C. Koehne '99 for the College of Business was created in memory of Eunice Koehne '99. wife of Michael C. Koehne '91, a graduate of the College of Business at James Madison University and a highly valued employee at Veris Consulting, LLC. Through this endowed scholarship, funds will be provided annually to an outstanding undergraduate student scholar who is enrolled in the College of Business and majoring in Accounting. The appointment of a student as a Veris Consulting, LLC Scholar shall follow the University's guidelines for the awarding of scholarships; provided, however, that the selection process shall be conducted in a manner that is mindful of the Donor's preference that the recipient of this scholarship shall have a good grade point average and reflect the firm's culture of leadership, well-rounded personality, and involvement in one's community and university.
 

Alton R. Wheelock Memorial Scholarship

An endowed scholarship established in memory of accounting professor Alton Wheelock to award accounting scholarships.
 

Mervyn W. Wingfield Scholarship

 Criteria:
     Need Based? No
     Freshman Only? No
 Information:
An endowed scholarship for outstanding accounting major at the end of his or her junior year to be used by the student in the senior year. The recipient of the award is to be selected by the faculty of the School of Accounting with approval from the Financial Aid office.
 

Yount, Hyde & Barbour, P. C. Accounting Scholarship

 Criteria:
     Need Based? No
     Freshman Only? No
 Information:

An endowed scholarship established by Yount, Hyde & Barbour, a CPA firm in Winchester, Virginia, to provide accounting scholarships. The Accounting department should make recommendations to the Financial Aid office.
