While students may be appointed as Carla Mumbert Frazier Scholars either by demonstrating a need for financial assistance, as determined by the university's Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships, or on the basis of their demonstrated academic merit, the donor directs that the successful candidate for this scholarship must demonstrate creativity and a love of art. The family notes that this scholarship remembers Carla Mumbert Frazier, a member of the Class of 1982 who shared her creativity and love of art in all that she did. The appointment of students as Carla Mumbert Frazier Scholars shall be made in a manner determined at the discretion of the Dean for the College of Visual & Performing Arts, mindful of the above criteria.
