Dawson Math/Science Scholarship
 Criteria:
     Need Based? Yes
     Freshman Only? No
 Information:

An endowed scholarship where recipients shall be either math or science majors in financial need, and shall be residents of Shenandoah or Rockingham county, Virginia. Recipients must be in good academic standing.
 

Judith Ramsey Hoffman Science & Mathematics Scholarship
 Criteria:
     Need Based? No
     Freshman Only? Yes
 Information:
An endowed scholarship established intended to benefit a JMU student who meets the following criteria: Major in science and/or mathematics; Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior and plans to make a career in science or mathematics or a related field. If at any time the student recipient fails to meet the requirements or when the student graduates, a new student will be selected based on the established criteria. The recipient may receive this scholarship for a maximum of four years. The scholarship recipient will be selected by the university director of scholarships upon recommendation (nomination) of the College of Science and Mathematics on June 1st as determined by the JMU Foundation Inc.
 

Frances Hughes Pitts Memorial Scholarship
 Criteria:
     Need Based? No
     Freshman Only? No
 Information:
An endowed scholarship established in memory of Frances Hughes Pitts from funds provided by her husband and son and friends of the family. Awarded annually to a female student majoring in one of the natural sciences. Recipients shall be chosen by a committee of the JMU College of Letters & Sciences, and will be chosen according to academic achievement.
