Scholarship Overview

An endowed scholarship established with gifts by John Putney and his fraternity brothers in memory of Stephen H. Miller, member of the JMU class of 1989 and brother of Sigma Phi Epsilon (SPE). This scholarship is intended to benefit a JMU student who merits the following criteria: A Member of a Greek organization at James Madison University; Displays outstanding leadership qualities in activities in Greek Life, on campus, or in the community. If at any time the student recipient fails to meet the requirements or when the student graduates, a new student will be selected based on the established criteria. The scholarship recipient will be selected by the University Scholarship Committee.
