Scholarship Overview

Established by Diane P. Beidler in memory of her spouse, Fred B. Beidler, the Fred B. Beidler & Diane P. Beidler Scholarship Endowment will provide financial resources to encourage enrollment at James Madison University by outstanding men and women - of any age - from Woodstock and Shenandoah County in the Commonwealth of Virginia that demonstrate they are deserving, ambitious, and intellectually capable students who desire to pursue their educational opportunities beyond the high school level - and, have a need for financial assistance, as determined by the University's Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships. Guided by the above criteria, this scholarship shall be awarded annually - and, it may be awarded to one (or more) incoming students or currently enrolled students, at the discretion of the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships. Once a student is appointed a Beidler Scholar, this scholarship may be renewed in subsequent academic years; but, it may be renewed for no more than four academic years beyond a student's freshman year. Beyond these criteria, the appointment of a student as a Beidler Scholar shall follow the University's guidelines for the awarding of scholarships.
