About Us

The Shenandoah Valley Small Business Development Center (SV SBDC) is one of 29 centers across Virginia providing professional business counseling, training and information resources to help grow and strengthen Virginia businesses. The Virginia SBDC network is the most extensive business development program in the Commonwealth.

The SV SBDC was established in 1989 at James Madison University and added a second office at Blue Ridge Community College in 2002. The centers offer free counseling services, assist with feasibility studies and business planning, sponsor seminars and training events, and provide information and other services to new and existing small and medium-sized businesses in the Valley.

Our service area includes the counties of Alleghany, Augusta, Bath, Highland, Page, Rockbridge, Rockingham, and Shenandoah, and the cities therein.

The SV SBDC receives programmatic and financial support from the Small Business Administration, George Mason University, James Madison University, Blue Ridge Community College, and local businesses.

SV SBDC Mission Statement:

To advise, train, and inform small businesses to help them achieve success.

A partnership program with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
