Earthquake that Affects the Library

Earthquake warnings are a rumbling sound reminiscent of the sound of a fast-moving railroad train. The tremors will follow soon after.

  • If time permits, evacuate all occupants to basement of the building.

  • Stand in doorways, crouch under sturdy tables-stay away from windows and out of large rooms in which ceiling will be more apt to give way.

  • When tremors cease, attend to the injured - try to move them to a safer treatment location. Seek medical assistance via Campus Police(ext. 6911).

  • Evacuate building only when quakes are ended.
