Introduction

Though fire constitutes one of the most frequent emergency situations in the campus setting, bomb threats, injuries and illness, aberrant emotional behavior due to stress or other mental crises, sexual attack, missing persons, and natural phenomenon such as high wind generated injury and damage are frequent non fire related emergencies encountered in the campus community. It is imperative that Residence Halls staff be familiar with such contingencies and proper subsequent action on their part, especially in the event of sexual victimization, exhibition of continuous deviant or bizarre behavior, missing persons, and injury or illness suffered by student members of the community. Therefore the scope of the Master Fire Safety Plan was broadened to include these other frequently encountered emergency situations.
