MSG Wilcox enlisted in the military in 1996 and attended Infantry basic training at Fort Benning, GA. His Military Education includes:  Air Assault, Pathfinder, Warrior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course and Senior Leaders Course.
MSG Wilcox arrived to James Madison University on 4 January 2012. Prior to this assignment he served as a First Sergeant of Aco 1-506th, 4th BDE, 101st ABN at Ft. Campbell, KY. MSG Wilcox has also served in the 1st BDE and 3rd BDE at the 101st ABN Division. Additionally he served as a Platoon Sergeant with Bco 1-506th for a total of two years. While at FT. Campbell he deployed a total of five times three times to Afghanistan and two times to Iraq. He has also served in Korea on two separate occasions in the Tango Security Force from 1996-1997 and also in the 506th from 1999-2001.
MSG Wilcox’s awards include the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Bronze Star with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Afghan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Over Seas Service Ribbon, and NATO Medal.
